A harpy eagle can hunt a sloth right in front of visitors. A jaguar, a superb swimmer, may cross the canoe's path while crossing a river. Be prepared for the unexpected during the day. You must also be prepared for the unexpected at night. The distant but terrifying call of the Great Potoo may frame the appearance of one of the great symbols of the most vivid nature: the red-eyed frog. Before and after: human silence.

The Darien opens the possibility of seeing almost 500 species. Some are endemic to a limited region or very specific to the place (those of the famous Cerro Pirre for example). Others are simply accessible in a unique way: the majestic harpy eagle and the elusive crested eagle. Seeing them is a gift. Photographing them, in the best possible conditions, is a privilege. And there will almost always be a beautiful and special Gray-cheeked Nunlet showing off without a hitch.

Darien National Park was declared a World Heritage Site in 1981. Its biodiversity is world famous. It presents several ecosystems that are not limited to the legal limits of the park and is wisely mixed with the native communities. From the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea, its geography is crossed by a vast network of rivers and wetlands such as the Matusagartí Lagoon.

The presence of the Emberá-Wounaan community, and the contributions of the Guna Yala, fill the entire region with culture and color. Thus, their places of life become friendly areas of coexistence with visitors eager to know their stories, customs, crafts and, especially, their relationship with the rich natural heritage in which they are immersed.
